The Adaptiv Home Certification

The Adaptiv Home Certification was developed by the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) to train professional renovators in providing better support for Canadians who wish to live at home for as long as they can.

The course is the first step in becoming part of a network of professionals who offer services to homeowners who want to live in their home safely and comfortably for as long as possible regardless of age, ability, size or circumstance. The focus of the course is on improving design to ensure safety, security, ease of use, comfort, accessibility and occupant health.

Upon completion of the 2 day course and certification exam, Adaptiv Home Professionals are equipped with the expertise in providing a wide variety of home renovations for people with various conditions and circumstances. They come away with enhanced skills and knowledge around building codes and requirements, as well as the specialized equipment, programs, resources relevant to the situation. The certification also emphasizes the critical importance of communication, empathy, planning and cooperation with the homeowner and various other stakeholders, including caregivers.
